Autumn ChecklistIt’s time to start checking off the important tasks that autumn brings about – bringing the cold weather clothing out of storage, preparing your yard for winter, getting ready for school, parties, and the beginning of the holiday season.

Interactive Chore Chart by EM TannerSometimes I find it ironic that I’m writing articles and blogs about living an organized family life. Perhaps, if you define it loosely enough, I fit the mold as an organized person, but that would be an incredibly generous description.

We hope everyone enjoyed following Amanda’s pins during July.  On our Pinterest Board this August, we're featuring Stephanie Morgan! A few of you may already follow her blog, Modern Parents Messy Kids, or may recognize her name from the projects she contributes to The Organized Parent.

Addicted to Pinterest? So are we, and we’re excited to introduce a new program on our Pinterest page. Each month The Organized Parent will feature a Guest Pinner. We’ll pick our favorite pinners to share great ideas they find on Pinterest with you. For the month of July, we would like to introduce Amanda Morgan.

Summertime is a big deal. If you live in a temperate zone, like I do, this is the time to get outside and enjoy the warm weather and longer days. It’s also the ideal time for barbeques, family and neighborhood get-togethers, family reunions, and wedding celebrations just to name a few.

Nothing beats a homemade gift. Mothers, in particular, appreciate the effort and creativity that go into something handmade rather than store bought.
